Produced from approximately 1963 to 1970, this model laid the aesthetic and technical foundations of what is today the most famous and desired chronograph in the world.

The peculiarity of this piece lies exclusively in the word “Daytona” printed on the dial. Instead of the standard stark white or common deep red, this text appears in a powder-blue or bluish-grey hue.

Experts hold two prevailing theories regarding how this hue came to be, the chemical pigment defect and the industrial transition, this second school of thought places these examples at the very end of reference 6239’s production run out (around 1970), coinciding with the launch of the succeeding reference 6262.
